Jewellers typically charge making (labour) as a fixed amount per gram or a percentage of metal value, plus wastage of roughly 5–15% depending on the design. Total price = (weight × karat rate) + making charges + wastage + stones. Always ask for the net metal weight separately from stones.

What differs city to city is the jeweller's making charges and wastage, not the metal rate itself.
