Metal value at the national rate
Weight × today's karat rate — identical in every city and shown live on this page. White gold prices exactly like yellow gold of the same karat; only the alloy and finishing differ. Ask for weight and karat as separate invoice lines.
Making charges (negotiable)
Roughly SAR 10–35 per gram for machine-made 21K pieces; handmade, Italian and bridal sets cost more. This is the only negotiable component — souq competition in Jeddah's Gold Center and Riyadh's Batha keeps it honest.
15% VAT — bars exempt
Jewellery carries 15% VAT on the full invoice including making charges. Investment-grade gold of 99%+ purity (bars, biscuits, qualifying coins) is VAT-exempt — the main reason biscuits dominate investment buying in KSA.
Silver (chandi) trades at SAR 6.95 per gram today (≈ SAR 6,946 per kilo). Diamonds have no daily rate — each stone is priced on the 4Cs, and only the gold mounting follows the rates on this page. Platinum trades through bullion dealers rather than the souqs.
